Ever- changing bands

The past few days, I’ve come home from work and stopped by in the shack to take a listen to what I can hear on the air. I wound up working Canada, Grenada, and Northern Ireland (the last two being FIFA special event stations). I still haven’t fixed that G5RV I’m borrowing of my dad’s but I’m hoping to this weekend even though it’s supposed to be near 100F (37.7C) when it’s all said and done. Anything for my favorite hobby, I guess…

I am trying to get access to my eQSL.cc account. I don’t remember what email address I used to create the account and I’ve not heard anything back from the site. I do have Clublog going and I will start uploading my weekly logs to it. So that brings the total to four sites I’ll upload my logs to: QRZ, LotW, Clublog, and eQSL. I just have to remember to start doing it.

I’m working on getting a headset with a footswitch soon for the FT-450D. That will make working DX and pileups a lot easier on me. I’ve always preferred working DX while using a headset as I can pick through the noise easier. The 450D doesn’t have an exceptional speaker for audio so the headphones I use are much better. I do like the various filters available on the 450D that make picking out weak signals much easier.

With the heat, I will probably be in the shack more this weekend since it has air conditioning. I need to get ready for the 13 Colonies special event starting Sunday, July 1. I’m hoping to get a clean sweep this year!
