EMCOMM Training

I decided to brush up on my EMCOMM (EMergency COMMunications) skills.  I took and passed with flying colors ARRL’s EC-001 “Introduction to Emergency Communication” course recently.  I’m wanting to take the next course but it looks like I’ll need to take several more ICS courses from FEMA before I tackle that one.  EMCOMM is one of the things I enjoy about amateur radio even though our role has lessened over the years with advanced in technology.  Still, the adage “when all else fails, amateur radio” holds quite true even today.  Realistically, I doubt I’ll ever get called to serve in an EMCOMM capacity but it doesn’t hurt to know what you’re doing if one does get called.
