My shack consists of a Yaesu FT450D normally at 100 watts, powered by a MFJ-4225MV power supply, that goes into a MFJ-969 Deluxe Versa Tuner II antenna matcher and then into an 85′ wire antenna connected to a 9:1 unun to allow me to use coax to go into my shack. I have an ICOM IC-706MKII that I’m wanting to install into my ’95 Nissan Pathfinder 4WD SUV so I can operate portable. I also have a Kenwood TS-430S that is sitting on a shelf for now. I have a Signalink for digital modes.
For 2 meters, I have a Yaesu FTM-3100 and use a J-pole my dad, KD7SXQ, made for me about 15 years ago out of copper plumbing. It works great. I also have a little portable 2 meter antenna I made out of some scrap 450-ohm antenna wire and a discarded piece of RG-8X coax. The antenna works perfectly!
I have a HP Elitedesk 705 G1 that I use in the shack for logging and digital radio. The software I use:
Here’s a small picture of the shack. On top of the little stack is my Yaesu 2 meter rig. Under that is my Yaesu FT-450D and at the bottom is my MFJ antenna tuner. A very modest station but it works quite well.
